Jennifer 1st began creating swimwear for herself years ago after getting frustrated swimsuit shopping!
She had gone through a total body transformation; she worked relentlessly for 4 years to loose over 80lbs naturally. At this time, she had never owned a two-piece swimsuit, but couldn’t wait! Once she hit her goal, she went to a local bikini shop in San Diego ready to SPEND.
She walked into the store with this mindset “I’m FINALLY HERE, Everything is going to look AWESOME! I can’t wait!”…however that mindset melted to “Oh no… I look awful in everything.”
There was one particular style she had grabbed because of the poster. She tried EVERY SIZE the brand offered. They all pinched horribly in the waistband, even when they were saggy and loose in the bum and clearly 2-3 sizes too big! She took another close look at the model on that poster. Jennifer realized something… it was FAKE! The photo was fake. She looked at the actual bikini, and the way it was constructed (especially the placement of the elastic). It was never going to fit on an actual body properly because it was MADE WRONG
Jennifer, who had been sewing since her grandma taught her at the ripe old age of 6, had the moment there in the dressing room where she said to herself

“Yep… these fit awful. So What. What are you gonna do? Get your feelings all hurt and go CRY about it?? Or are you going to get MAD and go make your own bikinis, since they wasted your time with False Advertising, FAKE photoshopped photos, and CRAPPY Styles which were never even made to fit on a body in the First Place? Â
She chose the Latter.
For years then, she only made swimsuits for herself. Often declining special order requests, thinking they were just compliments. Until one day, she was at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. Another lady there at the pool party demanded Jen sell her the swimsuit right offer her body! Jennifer thought she must be joking, and kept saying no… but eventually she made an offer Jen couldn’t refuse!
Jen’s friend stood beside watching in awe, and quickly suggested she and Jen should start a business together. They planned the whole thing that day.
Every one of Jen’s concerns, her friend explained it away, and she really sold Jen on the idea. They agreed to start the next morning at 10AM.
Well, the next morning came along, Jen called her friend, but… her friend said..”Oh I don’t know what I was talking about. I was drinking. Plus I have a job, I can’t do all that with my hours.”
But Jen started.
“Even the most confident and gorgeous women, no matter how crazy this may sound to others, sometimes have concerns when it comes to wearing a bikini, ” says Jennifer. “When I was younger, I thought it was just me, but soon I realized every woman of every size has similar concerns & it usually boils down to the FIT. So… Why can’t someone just make bikinis THAT FIT?”
“My design philosophy is this: “If I had 100 swimsuits laying in a drawer, and I needed to wear something that’s going to make me LOOK and FEEL AMAZING (+ also comfortable)… I ONLY want to make THE ONE I would pick in that circumstance. If I wouldn’t pick it among all the others.. then I don’t make that one, I make a better one. “
